group for children
During each class, children will explore a popular, entertaining and often hilarious English novel, which they will read together in a group, having the choice to read aloud or be read to.
After discussing the characters, text and ideas, children will complete inspiring and motivating written activities which will focus on a particular style of writing each week. They may write a newspaper article about an event in the story, a letter from a character or create an alternative character or ending.

They will re-tell, explain, argue, persuade and all these types of writing follow different rules and criteria. Children will learn the structure, vocabulary and tricks and tips for mastering each specific style in order to become confident creative writers.
Spelling and grammar skills will be carefully woven into each lesson, and will also be tailored individually according to each child’s writing ability and output. The nature of the small group allows for individual teaching of skills.
